Propaganda says that business is for people to explore themselves… yea that’s kinda true. Until I realized that statement is only for a minor number of people… for the energetic youth.
But actually, the majority of us need time to ourselves, for our family, loved ones, for kids. As they don’t stay at that age for long, they grow up… For the mature ones, jobs are for survival, till they reach a certain point of age, probably their 40s, they will step down and enjoy life, work is just a part of them.

But I mean, this evening I sat in the room with a workload that needed me ASAP, I suddenly missed my baby’s scent. His scent stayed in the room even though I had already bathed him 2 hours earlier.

Doing a single job and having the same old community can be joyful, but also torture if one day you realize, beside your work-friends, you don’t have any other connections.
- For survival: You need to know your ranking in the market. Bad things, aka economic downturns, could happen anytime. If you aren’t the owner, you don’t have authority to look at the books and have no valid proof of the company’s wealth, so you must always be ready. This is not a ‘good to have’, it’s for survival.
- Personal identity: Identifying as a person outside of your main work is always important. It helps improve your mental health, gives you something to say to other people beside your base job, and it’s also the perfect way to negotiate salary with your boss when you know your worth. So yea, even if you don’t want a second job, create a blog, just about you. Your personal traits might lead to something amazing…
