Will AI replace jobs? In this article, I will not tell you what AI models are as I am not too fluent in that subject myself. But what I can help you with is how not to be replaced based on its traditional definitions.
Feeling anxious about AI?
This is a post for you!
I know that you’re all terrified…
The world is the same… Less and less resources everyday, but more mouths to feed, the market is getting ridiculous.
The human force is becoming unimportant, especially the average-skilled force, because of AI.
Some of you are entrepreneurs not by choice, your companies either closed down or downsized.
I have the same fear. I had a baby 1 year ago, but I already contacted one of my freelance bosses in the second month. I was lucky, got the job immediately and started working in my 4th month postpartum.
I was overwhelmed in my first working month. Everyone dressed up so nicely, but the pacing was completely different than before I was pregnant.
I was scared and I cried with my husband. He started crying with me too, since he is an engineer, his scope is downsizing as well.
Then, he helped me see a path forward.
A threat of AI
In simplest terms, AI is the collective intelligence humans have put together in years, then a bunch of IT guys decided to train all these scrapes into ‘AI models’.
Then, we started talking to these models, they returned answers, parallelly gathered contexts and us-talking-to-them to get smarter, so that the second time chatting with them would be lots faster and efficient.
Lots of us (me included) think: Yay we save a huge amount of time. Next time opening Terminal, we just need to call Claude out and they will do the rest.
But the dilemma some of us might fear is that AI actually knows us. It knows our work, our habits, our KPIs, and surely one day, when all the context is gathered, our boss will only need to buy our macbook hard drives and remove us from the corporate system.
Machines will take over only if you stop learning
One of the facts which many of us left out is that we’re evolving everyday.
- Software Engineering: AI reviews code and teaches new languages, freeing developers to focus on high-level system architecture rather than syntax debugging.
- Modern Marketing: Marketers are vibe-coding, self-building sales pipelines, and automating reports, shifting their focus from manual data assembly to core creative strategy and revenue growth.
- Supply Chain: Predictive algorithms handle demand forecasting and route optimization, transforming operational staff from daily fire-fighters into strategic risk managers.
- Design: Generative tools handle image masking and layout resizing, elevating designers from software executors into art directors and UX strategists.
- Financing: Instant data extraction and automated reconciliation allow financial analysts to evolve from spreadsheet builders into strategic growth advisors.
With the examples as above, you could see that we actually are the brain of AI. Human brain can only remember so little, as now we can use Cloud service as the brain for your work, so that you would have more time to think about growth strategy, or how to optimize the operation/workflow to the best cost!
AI is here to boost productivity, not to replace us
AI isn’t here to take our jobs, as it super-boost us with its powerful memory. AI agents are your digital coworkers with limitless brains that can store, track, and process endless data in seconds.
By letting AI handle the heavy lifting of remembering details and doing busywork, we free up our own minds to focus on what humans do best: strategic thinking, creativity, and making smart decisions.
Top jobs being easily replaced by AI
Is your current job vulnerable ? Check out the below 4 criterias which AI can bypass and replace you!
- Repeatable Workflow. Doing the Same Thing Over and Over; if a job is just repeating the exact same steps every single day, AI can learn it instantly. Since nothing ever changes, AI can do it faster than a human without getting tired or making silly mistakes.
- Predictable Rules means “Following Simple Rules”. If a job just follows strict “if this happens, do that” rules with no tricky choices, AI can do it easily. It doesn’t need to guess or use personal opinion, it just follows the instructions step by step.
- No Need for Hands or Heart: If a job is done 100% on a computer screen, AI can take over. Jobs that need real physical hands in the real world or true human caring and empathy are much harder for AI to replace.
- High volume of data. If a job is mostly copying text, typing numbers into forms, or doing simple math, AI loves it. The more digital information there is to move around, the faster AI can do the job for you.
Prediction: How AI slowly invade your job if you aren’t ready
You buy a cheap AI tool to do your work faster. AI companies always start with low prices so the public can use them. Once they see people are hooked, they jack up the prices.
First, your boss asks you to use AI for tiny tasks. Then, the tasks get bigger. Soon, you are putting AI agents into every checkpoint of the whole project.
Next comes the downsizing. If you have a team of five, your manager won’t lay off everyone at once. They will quietly let people go one by one, starting with the least important staff.
Then, the bosses compare the work before and after AI. If you try to slow down what AI can do, managers will let you go. They won’t choose humans over AI, they will choose AI over you.
In the end, teams will shrink down to just one or two people, the ones know what they are doing and how to manage the whole project.
Note: This prediction comes from my husband, an engineer on the frontlines watching this shift happen.
